Older? Single? Start Dating Again, Seriously

I'm a successful professional male in my early 40s. My wife of nearly twenty years died about two years ago, and only laately have I started dating again. My children are in college and my business is not too demanding. I certainly have the time for a relationship, but did not know where to start looking. At my age, bars and night clubs probably won? T yield the results I'm looking for.

Being older, I do not have the time to play the field. I want to meet that perfect match already and looking through random online dating sites just is not cutting it for me.

If I'm going to date someone, I want there to be a very real possibility and chance of success. If I'm being unrealistic, so be it. It's where I am. Given my needs and expectations, I can afford to be picky, but i know what i want. Sometimes a matchmaker or dating service will be more for what I'm looking for.

I always scoffed at Internet dating services. They seemed to be just hookup sites for singles that are not serious about relationships. This does not describe me. At the urging of a friend, I signed up for one. I had nothing to lose, right? Well, I met a lady the first day I was a member. She sent a message to me indicating the system had informed her I was a good match for her. Imagine that a computer telling me something so personal. Well, I was dubious to say the least. Reluctantly, I responded to her and we started conversing via a matchmakers personal touch and introduction. A few weeks of conversation led to some steady phone calls. It was at this point I realized things were becoming serious for us.

I'm talking about commitment or love or anything that's real. I want something is real, not just a fling or encounter that's not going to last.

Meg and I plan to meet in person very soon. Whether I'm blessed with true love once more or not, the service I used has given me hope. Most importantly, it has shown me there are people out there just like me.
