NEW DELHI: The
Supreme Court on Thursday said “mountains of garbage” in Delhi reward that the town goes via a grave direct of affairs and slammed the lieutenant governor (LG) for not taking relevant action on the direct of affairs of true wreck administration.

Relating to the “mountains of garbage” at the three landfill sites — Ghazipur, Okhla and Bhalswa — the court said no action has been taken by authorities, including the situation of job of the LG attributable to which Delhi used to be going via the intense direct of affairs.

The location of job of LG and Delhi authorities told a bench comprising justices MB Lokur and Deepak Gupta that municipal corporations own the responsibility to take care of the direct of affairs of true wreck administration.

“That is nothing however passing on the buck,” an anguished bench said.

The bench also termed as “utopian” the ‘direct coverage on true wreck administration arrangement’ which has been framed by the LG situation of job and observed that perchance it would be not seemingly to implement because the East Delhi Municipal Company and the North Delhi Municipal Company don’t own funds to carry out their day-to-day affairs.

Coming down laborious on the LG, the court said that despite convening 25 meetings on the direct of affairs, Delhi used to be restful below “mountains of dumps”.

The bench directed the situation of job of the LG to file an affidavit by July 16 indicating the time body on the steps it’s imagined to capture to take care of the direct of affairs.
